The Components
- 2.1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt!
- 2 sticks of unsalted butter, fresh and softened!
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup of dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips!
- One pound of thick-cut bacon, already cooked and chopped up!
Things you’ll need
The instructions
- First, add the baking soda, salt, and flour and mix them together. Use a good whisk to mix everything together well! Just set this bowl aside for now.
- Put the unsalted butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a different bowl. Get creative! Mix this stuff together well for a few minutes!
- After you’ve creamed the butter and sugar together, go ahead and add the eggs one at a time, mixing in that lovely vanilla extract too! Now, let’s sprinkle in those dry ingredients gradually, just a little at a time.
- Continue blending until everything comes together smoothly! Next, toss in those semi-sweet and bittersweet chocolate chips! And now, let’s toss in those pre-cooked and chopped bacon bits! We decided to use our delicious candied bacon from a different recipe.
- When plank grilling, cover your batter with plastic wrap and refrigerate while you warm the grill. You can also place those cookies in a regular oven, warmed to 350°F.
- Get your grill ready for some indirect cooking and warm it up to around 350-400°F.
- Grab your planks from the water and give them a little shake to remove any excess water! On the grill, put the smooth cooking side down! Let’s warm up those planks with the hood down for about 3 to 5 minutes!
- Just scoop out each cookie right onto the planks, using around 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon for each one. Just a heads up: be super careful with those planks—they’re really hot!
- Just pop those planks in the middle of the grill! After about 5 to 8 minutes, go ahead and switch up the position of the planks!
- In about 10 minutes, they should be just about ready to go! We love to pop those planks right over the flame for around 30 seconds, just to give our dish a fun little smoky kick and a touch of fire to the flavor.
- Right now, it’s super important to keep an eye on your grill and steer clear of any distractions! If any flare-ups occur, just give the planks a quick spritz of water!
- Hey there! The cookies are all set and ready to enjoy! Just pull them off the grill and let them chill for a moment.
- Jump right in and enjoy every moment!
