Method for Cooking

How to Make the Marinade

  1. Give the pear, kiwi, and garlic a rough chop, then toss them in with the other marinade materials in a blender to blend until it’s lovely and smooth!
  2. Place the short ribs in a zip-tight bag and apply the marinade evenly to coat each meat with a delicious flavor. Pull the bag closed and expel as much air as possible! Pop it in the fridge for a few hours; anywhere between 2 and 4 should do the trick!
  3. When it’s time to fire up the grill, remove the meat from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.

Tips for Making Sauce

  1. MixCombine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk vigorously until well blended.
  2. Allow it to rest briefly before combining it with the cooked short ribs.

A guide for making short ribs

  1. Start by lighting a small to medium load of lump charcoal—just a few handfuls will work—so your grill can start warming up.
  2. When your grill is perfect and toasty, don’t sprinkle a little BBQ rub on both sides of those short ribs. Give it a good rub to get that seasoning in there!
  3. Once the coals are fully prepared, place the short ribs directly on the grates above the heat. Grill them for about 3 minutes per side, checking in every minute to avoid overcooking!
  4. Remove the short ribs from the grill and thoroughly coat them with the sauce.
