Method for Cooking
How to Make the Marinade
- Give the pear, kiwi, and garlic a rough chop, then toss them in with the other marinade materials in a blender to blend until it’s lovely and smooth!
- Place the short ribs in a zip-tight bag and apply the marinade evenly to coat each meat with a delicious flavor. Pull the bag closed and expel as much air as possible! Pop it in the fridge for a few hours; anywhere between 2 and 4 should do the trick!
- When it’s time to fire up the grill, remove the meat from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.
Tips for Making Sauce
- MixCombine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk vigorously until well blended.
- Allow it to rest briefly before combining it with the cooked short ribs.
A guide for making short ribs
- Start by lighting a small to medium load of lump charcoal—just a few handfuls will work—so your grill can start warming up.
- When your grill is perfect and toasty, don’t sprinkle a little BBQ rub on both sides of those short ribs. Give it a good rub to get that seasoning in there!
- Once the coals are fully prepared, place the short ribs directly on the grates above the heat. Grill them for about 3 minutes per side, checking in every minute to avoid overcooking!
- Remove the short ribs from the grill and thoroughly coat them with the sauce.
